1) Choose the Right Class. It's well known that when it comes to leveling in World of Warcraft, not all classes are created equal. To level and make Gold the fastest, especially if you are new to the game, then I recommend choosing a class that uses a pet, such as a Hunter or Warlock. These classes have such powerful companions to do their bidding, that it is almost like playing the entire game with a party of two. You will be able to kill multiple monsters at once and sometimes even entire groups of monsters at a time. This leads to faster leveling and greater profits.
2) Bind Your Keys. One of the least utilized skills used to level fast in World of Warcraft is the ability to bind your character's combat moves to other keys on the keyboard. In fact, this is the most common mistake I've ever seen when it comes to people that are new to the game. To do this, go to the main menu and select keyboard bindings. Find the appropriate line item that corresponds to the button from your on screen User Interface. Let's say, "action button 1." Just click that line item and input the new key. You want all your most used attacks and spells to be accessible without moving your left hand to far from the movement butt
3) Use Your Mouse Don't be a newbie and use your keyboard's arrow keys to turn around in World of Warcraft. One hand should be on your mouse at all times. This will save you enormous amounts of time.
4) Choose the Most Damaging Talents. At level ten, you get your first talent point. Put this talent point into the Talent tree that will most enhance your damage abilities. To key to leveling fast in World of Warcraft is killing as fast as possible and this will mean you will be choosing the most offensively oriented trees (Shadow if you're a Priest, Feral if you're a Druid, etc.) If your class has a choice, pick the talent tree that will allow you to kill the most efficiently, i.e. use the least amount of mana for each kill.
5) Do Not Grind. It's amazing that some people still believe that grinding is the most efficient way to level fast in World of Warcraft. It just isn't. It isn't even the fastest way to make Gold. anymore. So don't make that mistake. Questing is by far the most efficient way to level in World of Warcraft.
6) Quest Efficiently. So the dwarf you're talking to wants you to trek halfway across Azeroth and bring him a Bear Bladder from the Iron Tree Woods. Well that's find and dandy, but what about those ten other quests you have in your Log for the area you're in right now?! You know what you should do? That's right, get those other quests done first. When you are questing, it is very important to stick to one area at a time and do the least amount of traveling possible.
7) Only Group If You Have To. It's true there are some very profitable dungeons out there just begging for you to get a group together and go raid. However, it's just not that simple. Most of the time it will take you far longer to get a group together and go do an instanced dungeon that it would to do a few quests. Sometimes it can take hours to do one dungeon, depending on the skill level of your group. Soloing Quests is always faster.
8) Avoid the Auction House. Just don't go here, no matter how tempted you are. Your first priority when leveling fast in World of Warcraft is to buy your mounts and you won't be able to do this at level 40 and then at 60 if you're spending all your money on minor gear upgrades.
9) Avoid Crafting Professions. Early on these will just slow your leveling and Gold making down. Take two gathering professions and raise those as you run between quests, only stopping to go to town when your bags are full.
10) Use a Guide. The ultimate solution in my book and the one I wish I'd utilized much earlier on in my World of Warcraft career. A good leveling guide can get you to the max levels in about a third of the time it would take you normally, maybe even less! The guys that make these are real Pro hardcore gamers.
